In-person therapy offered in Center City Philadelphia, PA and virtual therapy in all 43 PSYPACT® participating states
Offering integrative and traditional psychotherapy
Life can be difficult at times, sometimes overwhelming, but that is often when we fight ourselves. When we stop fighting, there is a sense of relief, we can breathe a little easier and without being driven by the need to protect, we have the room to grow.
I use structured as well as collaborative approaches, including those drawn from psychodynamic and client-centered therapy to improve coping, increase hopefulness and enhance self-confidence. I also utilize integrative principles and techniques informed by neurobiology and nutrition, and mind-body interventions such as EMDR, Focusing and Mindfulness to unblock hidden fears and conflicts which may be contributing to emotional distress.
Whether you are experiencing prolonged grief, shame, worry or anger, you are likely drowning in those feelings. When feelings consume you, it is impossible to see your way out.
There are many healthy ways to create distance. We just need to find the ones that are right for you.
About Me
I am a PA licensed clinical psychologist in private practice and certified to see clients virtually in multiple U.S. states. I work with children, adults and couples, providing a safe environment of warmth and unconditional positive regard, so that each person can have the space to discover who he or she is and what steps are needed to better manage conflicts.
I work with those suffering from low self-esteem, trauma, relational and transition issues, grief and loss, chronic pain and addiction.
I completed my doctoral education at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 2001 and a post-doctoral residency in psychology at Thomas Jefferson University, Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior from 2001-2002. I have taught and currently supervise residents for the department.
I am certified as a Health Service Psychologist and Integrative Medicine Provider and in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
I am also the Mental Health Adviser for Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH), a non-profit with the mission of raising awareness of illicit acts of forced organ harvesting in China.
I have lectured on mind-body interactions and healing, trauma and addiction, and have spoken extensively on the trauma associated with illegal detention and torture while in custody in China.
